Isn't Bill Polian in the Hall of Fame??? I will agree Dungy did him no favors but he had plenty of talent around him, I mean Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James, it's not like Polian just threw a bunch of stiffs in there and said "go win!"

He's in the hall because of manning.

Even worse, Someone had Brees ahead of both.

The Bills teams he put together and went to 4 straight Super Bowls didn't count?

... and the Edge was the best of that bunch :stir:

Similar to Brady, I think Manning made those WRs that much better.
Brady pretty much had interchangeable parts as WRs with none highly compensated.  They let his first three binkies, Deion Branch, David Patten, and David Givens, walk rather than pay them.  They brought in some past-prime guys, but only Moss really excelled for them and that was mostly 2 years (one with Brady and one with Cassel). The guys he made look like stars were his slot guys - Troy Brown, Wes Welker, and Julian Edelman.

Harrison and Wayne, and some of the Denver receivers, may have been "made" by Manning, but Polian always paid up for H & W.  Most everyone thought they were stars / HOF types.  Maybe the analogy for Harrison is James Worthy or Scottie Pippen?

the one year Brady had a top receiver he nearly put together an unbeaten season, threw for 50 TDs versus 8 INTs, and ended the year with a 117 passer rating.  Imagine what he would have done with the pieces Manning had around him.

Backups have also won 14/19 games he's out, whereas the Colts were the worst team in the league without Manning

That goes to coaching, there is no way they should have been that bad unless the coach basically packed it in the second Manning went down.

well, Cassell was 11-5 with the squad that went 18-1 the year before (but no Richard Seymour), and Garopolo/ Brissett were 3-1 with a team that only lost one more game all year. Those were pretty good squads, and Cassell made the pro bowl his first year with the Chiefs.  The Colts the year without Manning were well past prime and started a complete rebuild.

Sounds like a good poll for WNFF! Should I make one?
