I think you're right.    They mentioned the Euros after '81 but I don't thing they were 4-0 in Foursomes.    I think they mentioned the USA won Foursomes (undefeated) in '47, '63, '75 and '81.     

I googled it and it appears Europe was 4-0 in '87 and '89 in Fourball.

Now the Golf Channel says '75   ...   I believe that's the last time the USA was up 4-0 after first round.    I don't like to be a cynic but I think Arnold Palmer's legacy will be attached to this Ryder Cup all weekend.     They're gonna mention him every chance they get.     I understand why but   ....

I think it's USA 9 1/2 to 6 1/2 at the end of play today.    Tomorrow's the singles.

Watched the hockey game last night.    Then started surfin' the channels.    Around 11 PM, I stopped on the Golf Channel.    The logo indicated it was a live event.    Hmmmm, how could that be?      It's the Australian Open.    :)    Final round will be on around 9 or 10 tonight on the Golf Channel.
