I love the Dead, but that was rep.  Even the fans of the Dead just sit around, stoned, going oh wow to the drum solo or space.  I think I taped only 4 sides of Europe 72 because the last 2 sides were Space and drums.

Never could get into the Dead. Was listening to RHCP Live at Hyde Park. They sound really good live. Also a lot of Pearl Jam lately, love Better Man.

I went to the jukebox at CCSP and did the supersearch for "Mama Tried."  Not only did they have 12 versions by the Dead (thank you, Dick's Picks), and about 8 by Merle (of course), but they had about 5 other artists covering it.  what an amazing song.  I played Albert Lee's, which i thought couldn't hold a candle to the either the original or the Dead.

Beck Bogert Appice,

Lady

Woman who was the floor above me junior year used to blare this album and Patty Smith's Easter.  At the time, I did not understand just how good her tastes were.

Amazing that two goofs like Dee Snyder and Criss Angel could do something so awesome to raise money to fight cancer. I hope Angels son gets better.

Volunteer usher?! What the freak?! Make them pay you if you can't enjoy the show. I expect to see some photos of VARK in the pit at Alice in Chains

Ha!  You can enjoy it after everyone is seated...pretty easy gig, actually.

Gonna see Heart again on 9/11, this time with Joan Jett and Cheap Trick.  Paying for those tickets.  I miss the '70's...and '80's...

Springsteen on 9/1...
