You people don't have snow blowers?  Best $500 I ever spent.  Wimps.

Seriously, how do you gents not have one?

I've thought about it over the years.   In fact, neighbors and I talked of pitchin' in and gettin' an ass-whoopin' one.    Never got around to it.    I'm cheap and I suppose I enjoy shoveling.   Reminds me of the old days and good times.

Even that can be fun.   Know how to tell if someone's from Pittsburgh?    Well, if you're from Florida and you get on a snowy road and start slidin', you start screaming and freakin' out.    If you're from Pittsburgh and you get on a snowy road and start slidin', you say, "Hold my beer and watch this."
I could combine this with a canvasing story from 1980 in 10" blizzard the weekend before the NH primary.  Loved driving a station wagon down the  main street of Concord and spinning out the tail as we turned.  Was a lot of fun. We sent 5 cars up from New Haven that weekend and 3 got into accidents.

There was a hairpin uphill turn at the end of our oneway street.    Pops used to spin out up around the corner.   Did ya ever travel down the road with your head out the moon roof of a VW Beetle during a snow storm?   :)

Really?    I do some neighbors and help others.   Then we dig the cars out.

No, No.  I meant they shovel. As opposed to blow.

I mean, if you are in Minnesota, you need a snow blower. Here? I dunno.

Neighbor down the street has one and he gets it out once maybe twice all winter.

Yeah, for those times, it's helpful to have one.

This is the first storm in at least five years that has me scrambling around for the wheel weights and chains.

I plan on shoveling during the storm after every few inches. It's a lot easier on the ticker than waiting until it's over and you have a foot of snow on the driveway.

Yep, that's the key.    I go out once an hour.

I've got 15 feet of sidewalk and some steps.  It still takes a 6-pack to clear it.

i've never found that to be useful, especially in a blowing snow.   I'll just wait until it stops and dig in.

I never figured it's worth the money for the once a year or so that i'd use it, plus my neighbor has a nice one.
