Phillips just tweeted. "513 to 202" "On deck"

513 is the Cincy area code. 202 is DCs. Trade about to go down?
Yup

Phillips would have to approve any deal.  So, that is likely the truth.

So, he's a decent hitter right? I'm good with this.

I'm more happy about that than getting Phillips.

I didn't realize he has 23 stolen bases last year.

Better than nada

No...because we had to give something up for him plus $14MM/yr.  Total meh...

This is like they spent money just for the sake of spending money...something Mark Lerner told me they would never do...

Rizzo is gone...

He improves the team. I'm happy with the move. Now we need to get our LH OF.

Still no leadoff hitter

LF Werth
2B Phillips
3B Rendon
RF Harper
1B Zimm
CF Taylor
SS Espi
C Ramos?
I see Phillips hitting 5th or 6th

Seriously, I don't see the upgrade value.    It's like they wanna be active just to prove they can be.

I don't care about the money, I just wanted a new bat in this lineup :|

It all depends on what we had to give up to get him. He's a very solid player who has hit all throughout the top 5 of a lineup. Still solid on D and can swipe quite a few bases.

So Phillips and say Blackmon isn't an upgrade over Taylor and Espi?  I want to live in the baseball world where you think that's true.
I'll be ecstatic if we land Phillips and Blackmon. That would make our lineup very solid.

They almost replaced Yunel with Phillips...almost...for twice the price...and someone older who is sure to regress from last year...

And picked up a decent reliever in the process

For his salary and another $7MM.  Pretty expensive arm.

That is completely ignoring the poor defense that Escobar provided and that he hit 60 points higher than he had in the previous 3 seasons. I think we would've all been talking about his progression if he had stayed here. He had a career year offensively.
