ND kicked our asses last year. Would've rather faced Denver, but bring on ND. Let's go Q!

Terrific win for the Bobcats.  Garteig made some huge saves in the last few minutes - I'm thinking of the one where he basically jumped out to meet a shot from the point and the save with the glove batting at another labelled shot with about 7 seconds left.  Anas looked good even if he was not on the scoresheet.  I'm happy for St Dennis having a big game, too, because he gets a second shot at the frozen four final.  The Cliftons looked great, too.

It's funny that, other than maybe Harvard, the ECAC seems to have a lot fewer NHL draftees on their better teams.  This leads the ESPN guys to often to start with a belief that the opponent like BC should be favored regardless of how the teams performed during the year.  I recall this sort of line about the Union team that won when it was a clear #1 in the polls and in the Pairwise the second half of the year.  The QU team in 2013 was also a clear #1 but they were the #1 seed most picked against to come out their regional (certainly not Minnesota ;) ) . This year's QU team has been right around the top all year, too, but they were already being called the underdog against either Denver or NoDak as soon as they beat BC.  NoDak is very deserving, and Denver had a great 2d half, so maybe that is correct, but there was not much analysis behind the statement when it was made by the desk guy.

sorry for QU, but congrats to NoDak.  I've thought Johnson somehow did not get enough credit this year for his season and would have been a more deserving Richter award winner than Demko.  On another note, I guess there's a ton of controversy over Vesey winning the Hobey Baker Award over Connor from Michigan.  You can say his point totals should be graded a bit on the curve given the B1G's down season, but I think it is more not wanting to give it to another one and probably done freshman and thinking Vesey was due a lifetime achievement award for a senior who has been outstanding for several seasons.

To close out the news for this season, we'll start with the star of the runner ups, Sam Anas of Potomac and now the Minnesota Wild.
Sam Anas has signed with the Minnesota Wild.

Finally, as is the way with this thread, we post a youtube of the national champs fight song.  Here is the North Dakota Fight Song, Stand Up and Cheer.  Found a version from the hockey arena rather than the one from a football tailgate.
