gotta pull for the underdog yankees

Carlos Beltran deserves a ring.  Seriously, if he retires without one I might actually cry.

My boss (diehard Mets fan) owes me dinner at Peter Lugers with ARod as our special guest if he does win CPOY.  I'm lighting some candles tonight just to make that happen.

The Mets in the NL, followed by the Pirates. Mainly I just want Harvey to pitch like a freaking god, just to shove it in all the Mets' fans faces who were all butt hurt about the 180 innings issue.

In the AL, the Blue Jays. I feel like fate owes me this. A long time ago, there was a Game 6 of the World Series that I watched as a young lad. Well, watched most of. My father made me turn it off and go to bed before it ended because it had run late. He said that the Phillies would win and that he promised he'd let me stay up and watch Game 7, no matter how late.

Joe Carter was walking up to the plate when he clicked the TV off.

I think that might be child abuse!

Mitch Williams and his burned out arm was in the mound. What was your Dad thinking?

I watched that game with some hookers in a bar by the Vancouver docks (my apartment was nearby, and I didn't have a TV).  The place went nuts  :hysterical:

It went all the way up and all the way back down in the course of three years. I have definitely gotten lucky there, but I wouldn't have recommended doing so 20 years ago.

Yeah, it's kind of funny when you grow accustomed to having your baseball watching buddies disappear for a couple of innings to turn tricks.

Reminds me of when I used to DJ at a club downtown.    Dance floor would jump and then slow down, then jump again 20 minutes later.

Based on the current postseason picture, my desired bracket would go as follows:

AL Wildcard:
Angels v. Yankees: Yankees

ALDS:
Rangers v. Royals: Royals
Yankees v. Blue Jays: Blue Jays

ALCS:
Royals v. Blue Jays: Royals

NL Wild Card:
Cubs v. Pirates: Cubs

NLDS:
Mets v. Dodgers: Mets
Cardinals v. Cubs: Cubs

NLCS:
Mets v. Cubs: Cubs

World Series:
Cubs v. Royals: Cubs

I love the Royals, but I want the drama of the Cubs winning.  Although it would be even more dramatic to have them lose in Game 7 of the WS.

The only thing I disagree with you on is the A.L. wildcard game.

kind of hoping for Texas / Toronto so Ted Cruz can be conflicted about rooting for the team from his home country.

The US and Canada should have a swap - Alberta for Minnesota, straight up.
