D.J. Houlton, RHP (4-4, 5.70)

Tony Armas, RHP (5-5, 4.83)

Game Time: 7:05 PM

MLB Scouting Report:
Houlton's first-inning wobbles appear to be more than a statistical curiosity, as opponents have opened his last seven starts with runs. He tends to find a rhythm in the middle innings, but by then he is in a hole. He is winless since June 27.

Armas will face the Dodgers for the fifth time in his career. He is 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA against them. In his last start, Armas pitched six innings and give up four runs on six hits against the Marlins, who defeated the Nationals, 4-3. He struck out only one batter, but walked four. Armas ended up throwing 112 pitches, 60 of them for strikes.

Starting Lineups:

I said, can you FEEL THOSE RUMBLINGS?

Ladies and gentlemen, I have felt the tremors, and now I am certain: Mt. Guuuz is about to explode.  Bang!  Zoom!

Tonight he hits for the cycle.

I like that call...sending Wilkerson after Navarro's missed throw yesterday.  I would be pressing the Dodgers for stolen bases all game long.

Well that's the Nats for you: runner on 3rd with only 1 out, and of course we can't get him home.

You can tell the radio announcer is getting really irritated by it.

Armas pitch count is up to 44.  Houlton's is only 19.

We really need to make him work this inning.

Take some pitches Christian. Fouling the first ball is not a good sign.

They should make an educational video for rookies showing the Washington Nationals since the All-Star Break.  It should be titled:

"The Many Different Ways to Defeat Yourself"

Frank should make Wilson run laps for the rest of the game for that gaffe at 2nd.

I have no idea why we traded for this guy.  He is awful.
