I can't imagine what insightful things MW will have to say in his presser.

Really thought we might win after Zimm's homer.  Lousy pitching by Jansen and a terrible loss.  Meanwhile the Mets keep chugging along.   :icon_frown:

MW: We were hoping he'd give up less than 6, so it was a successful inning for him.
Beat writer: Uhh, you realize the goal is to score more runs than the other team, right?
MW: Really?  Oh...

In 19 years of wild card play, 156 teams have made the playoffs. Only 25 of them began September out of playoff position, or just about one per year. Here’s the inverse: 84 percent of teams holding playoff positions on Sept. 1 finish the season in playoff position.

Six teams in 19 years have made up four games or more in September.

"With a seven-game division lead on September 12, the Mets suffered a historic collapse by losing 12 of their last 17 games and missing the postseason. It is regarded as one of the worst collapses in MLB history."

Fire Matt Williams today.

Promote Billy Gardner, Jr...let him finish the season

Offer the job to Gardner or to Terry Francona for 2016.

Remind whoever becomes manager that the goal is to win a game. Abolish the counting of "saves" in the Nationals organization.

Cards announcers are idiots

I agree that Carpenter is stupid, but what about the people who broadcast on the St. Louis TV feed?

I don't follow minor leagues enough to know about managers. Is Gardner really worthy of a MLB job?
