I know there was a game last weekend but the season really begins this weekend and with an early game tonight.  SC vs. NC at 6:00.  Looking forward to seeing if my Temple Owls can finally knock off Penn State this weekend and also the VT-Ohio State game Monday.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Michigan responds to Jim Harbaugh, I liked him for some reason at San Francisco so I'm rooting for him to turn that team around and make SF rue the day they forced him out of there.

The Harbaughs are not like able but certainly excellent coaches.

Utah tied with Michigan 3-3 early in the second. Added bonus is that Gus Johnson is doing the game. Always enjoy him.

I didn't say he was a boy scout   There are very few good coaches IMO but he happens to be one of them, fiery disposition and all I like watching his teams play because they play good football.

Not college but went to a high school game last night--Battlefield vs. Gar-Field.  Probably ten years since I had been to a high school game.  Things have changed.  Now they throw the ball 70-80% of the time rather than vice versa.

Interesting Post article this morning on how hard Maryland's coaching staff and players worked offseason to make their linemen bigger and stronger.

After eight months of toil, the Terrapins will begin their season Saturday against Richmond on the backs of a revamped offensive line: The unit weighs an average of 308.5 pounds, an increase of nearly 20 pounds from last season’s average of 289.7. It will enter the season not only looking the part of a Big Ten front but also confident it can stand up to the league’s big boys after struggling mightily in its first season in the conference.

The Big Ten’s strengths, of course, extend far beyond its size in the trenches, making a repeat of last season’s 7-6 finish, 4-4 in conference, a potentially tall order. Maryland will feature a new defensive scheme and new starters at several key offensive positions. And the Terps’ division features defending national champion Ohio State, fellow playoff hopeful Michigan State and legacy programs in Michigan and Penn State that are expected to improve. But by one measure — weights listed on the roster — the Terps already stack up impressively: Only Wisconsin, whose offensive linemen average 310.1 pounds, lists a bigger group.

Perusing the NCAA schedule today on ESPN.Com.       Ohio State at VT looks like fun.    Have to flip between the Nats and this game  ...  with primary emphasis on the Nats' game.
