This is a thread to predict when we will hit rock bottom.   Rock bottom is the point at which we stop losing and start winning.

I think option #4 but with the added twist of the Barves finishing above the Mets and Sherzer retiring from baseball to enter a monastery.

2007

Doesn't count, losing 100 games was intentional, the team wanted to save payroll while building through the draft. The Plan.

option 4, but both desmond and Zimmermann have bounce back seasons twisting the knife further

Rock bottom is staying in the hunt the rest of the year, falling short, then declaring that the lost season was due to injuries and repeating the same mistakes next year. Who needs offense when we've got guys coming back from the DL?

What are the odds we get swept by the Rockies?  Pretty good, I'd say.

Could be he meant 2008, or 2009.  2007 doesn't make sense.

If I were making book, I'd say 1 in 3 we get swept.  75% chance we lose the series.

Rock bottom is these freaking idiots continuing to insist that everything will be alright and that they aren't worried even though they look like complete crap on the diamond.

I don't think this team is done f'ing with me, so I say they will go on a nice streak of good play and a few wins (like 14-6 over 20) and we trade the lead a couple of times with the Mets, only to lose the division on the final series of the season against them...or something like that. they know I'm pretty disappointed right now and have nearly given up and they don't want that. they want me to get my hopes up one more time just so they can polish their steel toed boots and kick me right in the center of my crotch one last time while they point and laugh at me like in Dumb and Dumber when they make that guy eat all those hot peppers and he has a heart attack.

so its either that scenario or they'll just stink the rest of the way...also, someone else mentioned that they'll blame everything on injuries and repeat the same mistakes again in 2016. I truly believe that will happen.

We win 2 of 3 and don't gain anything on the Mets. All they have to do is play .500 ball and we are toast. The season is over. Book it.

We play .500 the rest of the season and end up in 2nd place, out of the playoffs.

This. '08-'11 sucked but my hopes and standards were far lower, and the team was more fun to watch then. This team just sucks and is complacent about it to boot after another playoff bedcrapting. This is the worst.

RB= two more years of Werth, Zimmerman, Storen, Williams and Rizzo. Not a bottom, but a trough.

If the Nats win 2 out of 3 and the Mets play .500 ball, the Nationals will win the division by 2 games.
