The United are playing a home playoff game tomorrow, in the rain, while the Caps are hosting the Pens, and the Wiz are playing their season opener, and the World Series and Republican debates are on. I might be the only one there. Pretty amazing that the city is spending nine figures on a stadium for a team that can't sell out the playoffs with $25 seats.

That is a prefect storm of competing events and weather. Plus that metro stop is only half open. I'm somewhere between die hard and casual fan and I have zero interest in that game. How did they even make the playoffs. I feel like they haven't won a game in months. They really need to sign a big name to boost interest

This reminds me of the 2006 season where they won every game in the first half and then backed into the playoffs after losing every game in the second half.

Tickets are going unsold for $6 on StubHub, can you imagine that for a playoff game for the Nats/Wizards/Caps/Redskins? Soccer has it's niche, I like it, I'm just annoyed that the city is gifting this team $150 million when they are going to see $0 return on that money.

Fun game tonight, the refs let them play so there was plenty of contact, great goal by the Revs and a sweet pass, pass, shot goal by Rolfe. I'd like to see the replay on the Boswell foul, sounds like a pretty dirty play from the Twitter descriptions. Best part was the missed hand ball in the box, it's so much better winning on a bad call by the refs than actually earning it.

Too early to call on whether the stadium will be a waste. It's less than one fourth the nats stadium price ten years later. Nats park looked like a swindle for four years after it opened.

Lots of teams are getting good crowds in mls. DC won't be any different unless the owners are cheap. This is basically an uncapped league and there is a ton of talent to be bought. Although that hasnt helped nycfc

Funny how NY has become Cosmos 2.0, exactly what the MLS structure was supposed to prevent. It's a totally different market now though. Lampard and Pirlo and 9 smurfs and Yankee Stadium will be full of bootboy wannabes in wool hats and braces.

Bob Kraft never bought into the EPL because it was an uncapped league. Small wonder that the peak for the Revs was during the first decade of the century when you could just draft well out of college and populate your roster with Dempsey, Twellman, and Parkhurst and then sign a cheap Grenadan like Shalrie Joseph for your foreigner (also a college player). Now, with no real cap, I don't know how much they are shelling out for guys like Jones and Davies, but probably less than the more competitive teams.

I'm tempted to say jones makes three mill tops. It's either three or one mil. A rounding error for many these owners

Is there a table of how much the actual payout each team is making? I thought nominally it is still a capped league but there are numerous exceptions.
