Are you old enough to remember the "stroll"?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stroll

I was 5, and don't remember it.  Kinda like where the car keys are...

Junkies talked to Tim Howard this morning.   I was tempted to attend the friendly at RFK on Friday.

West Brom's not a bad choice (not the best uniform or logo, though). They aren't great defensively, but they will try to get forward against any opponent.

Tottenham's a safe choice if you want a team that will be in the top 10 just about every season. I like their uniform design.

Try to pick a team with a style you like.

I think they'll be back in the Championship (second tier) next season. Nathan Redmond is going to be a star, but he'll be sold in the next year or two.
Think I will go for Crystal Palace.  They have someone named Joel Ward.  They have a Korean guy (wife will approve).  Uniforms are cool.  And I assume they are still a major underdog for the first four positions despite their fast start.  Also, they are in London so on the chance I ever get there for a game would be convenient and assume tickets would be easier than for the marquee teams there.

Good choice. Yohan Cabaye and Yala Bolasie are their best players. Alan Pardew is a solid manager.

I will keep an eye on those two.  Thanks

RFK felt like a suburb of Lima

I watched part of it.    Looked like a good crowd  ....   even had the upper deck open.    I've complained  (:old:) about it before but there seems to be an abundance of noise.    I looked at tickets in the mezzanine to get out of the din but sideline in the mezzanine was listed as $125.    That's too rich for my blood for a friendly.

Upper deck was like $40 plus the usual b.s....I actually prefer upper deck at RFK.  But man, that place is looking tatty, especially upstairs.  I don't think it's received a drop of paint in a good decade or so.

With the new soccer stadium coming, I don't see 'em doin' much maintenance on the old girl.

The peru barra brava was next to us. Just one section. Maybe a hundred people. They did some rhythmic jumping early in the game. Upper deck shaking is not fun

If we call Roma "Rome," then should we call Barcelona "Barcelone?"

Edit: never mind, it's just a Dinamo scrimmage against a pub team made up of boneheaded Frenchmen.

My theory:

Soccer is way more of a free market than US leagues. I don't think they have anything like nba and nfl uniform regulations. If they do it doesn't apply to shoes

It's probably so kids can tell who is wearing what cleats on tv. If Rolando changes to the pink Nikes, you gotta go get a pair. Pretty genius actually

I'm watching Ingolstadt/Köln, and there are banners prominently displayed all around the stadium saying in English "Refugees Welcome!"  Even my inner cynic is amazed by this.
