I Think She Likes Me by Treat Her Right.  A mid-80s Boston band that a classmate followed  through many clubs.

We use anthem singers before we play whenever possible. But we use your anthem, not our own.

I wondered about that... do they sing O Canada at (sp) the Rodgers Center in Toronto, pregame?  And if not, why not? Seems like a perfectly appropriate time and place for it.

Haven't been. But the single A team does both. Hockey does both two, home team's anthem second.

I think MLB should follow Hockey's lead on it then.  Only playing the Star Spangled Banner in Toronto strikes me as the kind of unconscious arrogance that makes US tourists unwelcome in a number of places.

I have a friend who's been to a couple of Blue Jays games, I just asked him and he said they played both but it's been a few years since he's been to a game there so maybe something has changed.

There is a song about A-Rod on the new album. I wonder if it's online.

Was that a JCM800 I saw in the "Juicehead" video?  You guys remind me of a less manic, baseball oriented version of the New Bomb Turks.

Sing the Star Spangled Banner set to O Canada's music.

When I toured with the Weakerthans in a former life John K Samson was impressed I knew how to play O Canada on guitar.  We tried to play a drunken medley of the SSB and O'Canada but too much Old Style got in the way.

It's a 2000.

What band were you in?

Talk about giving a song new meaning.

Leaving the Caps game tonight, I stopped to take a leak.

Standing at the urinal, right as I started my business, the PA started playing "Shake It Off."

Hmmmm.....thanks for the advice, but I think I knew to do that!

New Mumford song doesn't sound like Mumford. Sounds more like U2 or Coldplay.

If you're listening to Blurred Lines then you're really listening to Got To Give It Up

There's only so many times you can make the same song. Then you evolve into polished power pop.

I don't know if Blurred Lines is copied from MG or not but damn I like seein' Thicke and Williams get junk punched.    Just a bitter old man I guess.   :old:

Vulture Industries. These guys are probably the most accessible of the avant-garde metal bands I've ever heard. Less campy than Diablo Swing Orchestra and less batcrap insane/dissonant than UneXpect, but much harder to describe than those bands.

I agree, but it sets a stupid precident, so I'd rather someone actually punch their junk.

I hear King Tutankamun is suing Steve Martin for ripping off ancient modalities and melodies from him.

That precedent's been around a long time.    George Harrison found out about it.

Since I'm getting back on the bike today I'm cranking a tonne of Rocket from the Crypt to get ready.  If you say that you like dirty rock 'n roll and don't like "Run Kid Run" just go ahead and kill yourself.
