Last Sunday we went to the Kennedy Center to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Great show. I'd had the soundtrack album from the 1993 revival starring Michael Damien and Kelli Rabke for years and I knew all the lyrics (the show is sung through, no spoken dialogue other than maybe two or three lines). Playing that album tonight while doing the dishes (I need to re-rip it, sounds too compressed). Great fun to listen to this, especially Pharaoh sung in the style of E. Presley. I will have to keep this in mind next time we are at a karaoke night.

This was on Facebook this morning.  It will surely be the show of a lifetime

Grateful Dead with Donald Nagle and 46 others

We're thrilled to announce "Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead". To celebrate the band's 50th anniversary, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh, and Bob Weir will reunite at Chicago's Soldier Field, to perform on July 3, 4, and 5, 2015, marking the Grateful Dead's last-ever performance together. The band will be joined by Trey Anastasio (guitar), Jeff Chimenti (keyboards), and Bruce Hornsby (piano). In the tradition of the original Grateful Dead Ticketing Mail Order, tickets will first be made available via a first-come, first-served mail order system. All additional ticketing information is available at http://Dead50.net.

Good thing the Knicks won't have a game that weekend...

92.5 from Andover/Boston.  It's a terrific independent radio station.  OK, maybe a little more my speed, but they also play current tunes.  Song mix is like one a decade.  They'll go from the Pretenders to Sam Smith just now.

Mitlen - give it a listen.  Maybe they'll pay you to dj from home.

I still have play lists from my radio and club DJ days.    :)

Here's another fantastic one.  You can see/hear the inclusion of orchestral elements to their style, something they would expand on (a lot) when they spunoff to create the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

So I looked at the pictures of the dozens of acts that are supposed to appear at the Grammy's.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/music/grammys/2015-grammy-awards-show-performers/ss-AA8ZePV

Of those, I could identify 4 - AC/DC, Madonna, Sir Paul McCartney and Tony Bennett.

Didn't recognize Tom Jones there...bad miss, I guess.

Sorry...didn't ID Beyonce cause I don't know what she looks like, and I can't tell Katy Perry from whomever that was that dated Tony Romo for a while.

You are over fifteen years old and you like Taylor Swift. Your musical recommendations are highly suspect.
