RIP Dean Smith

Terps fan here but I always liked Dean more than that insufferable Coach K. RIP.

RIP Dean Smith

Listening to sports talk the last couple of days and you'd think Smith invented basketball.    He may have taken concepts to a larger stage but a lot of the stuff he's being credited with "inventing", I saw in high school games in the 50s.   There's a lot of urban legend going on.     :old:

He did reportedly invent the " At Home Degree" program...

Stat thrown out this morning reported 96% (IIRC) graduation rate during his tenure.    I wanna know, "Who wrote the papers?"

nope cheating only started after he left. /s Seriously, he apparently really cared, he even got a clause inserted into McAdoo's contract giving him a 100k bonus upon graduation (at least that's what Feinstein was saying this morning)

Feinstein's a gas bag.    :stir:     Was that the Junkies interview?    I heard him on the way to the gym but didn't catch all the interview.

I was always a Knight fan so "A Season On the Brink" was a keeper as well.

Wait, UNC was paying their players?  No wonder they were starting all-americans at every position.

To el-Deano's credit however, he was the only coach to hold Jordan under 20 points a game.
