Currently only being reported in the WSJ... but apparently Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away.

America's best actor IMO. He was tremendous every time I saw him  Understated greatness in 'Doubt'.

Sad.  My kids note that it screws up the hunger games series.

Ohhh. Good point.

OK, not super famous except to anyone who grew up here in the late 50's-early 60's but the guy who played Cap'n Tugg died.  Anyone else remember watching him on WTTG in those days?  I LOVED that show.

Sorry, more of a Captain Kangaroo guy.  Also a fan of Ranger Hal.

Not quite. He had been clean for 22 years, then relapsed in 2013, spent ten days in rehab, was seemingly clean again, then fell back into it. Addiction is a lifelong disease, especially with something as nasty as heroin. Those 22 years were a long time to be clean, but.... I can't help wishing there had been 22 or 44 more. :(

Not one of his big roles, but I was watching Moneyball today and thought he was a great foil as Art Howe.

Liked Ranger Hal too.  I remember that the rabbit's name was Oswald.  Some kids I knew were confused when Kennedy was shot - they wondered why the rabbit killed the President.

Anyone remember Pick Temple?

Maximilian Schell.

I consider Judgment at Nuremburg to be one of the great courtroom dramas along with Twelve Angry Men and The Verdict.

I just watched Judgment at Nuremburg for the first time last week. Fantastic movie. Schell, Clift and Lancaster all impressed me in that one.
