Taken out of tonight's game in the 2nd inning, appears to be an injury...

Twitter saying HBP to the knee.

Yes HBP. This is getting ridiculous. He is our best hitting prospect and keeps getting HBP each season. You would think they would tell him to move back or do something something different with his stance...

Starting the second half of the year hitting .296 BA .395 OBP with 6 HR 23 RBI 13/19 SB/CS at Potomac. Need him up in Harrisburg in July.

I don't see any reason to rush him. If he gets to AA at some point this year, cool. If not, not the end of the world. He'd still start AA at 20 next year, which is still on a great pace. I think we'd all love it if he could get to AA, do well, and set himself up to push for a big league spot early next year. But it doesn't have to be that way. Even if he finishes the year in Potomac, he could still push for a spot if he hits in his first 6 weeks in AA next year.

I'll go for June 2019, unless they make the mistake of pulling a Turner with him and bringing him up the previous year to waste him for a while.

Hopefully we trade him for a decent starting pitcher and a couple quality relievers.

still wouldn't be surprised to see him this September, but if not, definitely in 2018.

Never say never, but man, it's the end of June and he hasn't even gone to AA yet.  I suppose maybe he comes up if he hits the cover off it in AA and multiple outfielders are hurt (beyond the two already out, that is) but otherwise it seems pretty unlikely.

I'll say never on this one.  There is literally no reason to rush him right now.  Our outfield is set until at least 2019 (Goodwin or Taylor slot in for Werth next season).  The best way to kill a great prospect is to rush him so the only justification for rushing a prospect is a major need for a team with World Series aspirations.  This situation does not fit at all.  The kid is 20 years old with all the potential in the world.  The Nats would be insane to rush him now.

I think people see some of the impact players in their early 20s are having around the majors and hoping we have another one when it comes to Robles, but, unless he dominates AA, there's little reason to push.  I suspect the team would think about it in the 2d half of 2018 if both Goodwin and Taylor fall back to earth or are traded.

Don't forget, Goodwin was a 1st rounder and was supposed to be JBJr.'s replacement at South Carolina before the Nats drafted him out of JuCo.  He's just now growing into some power, some speed, pretty good walk rates, acceptable K rates in the high minors, and should not be a defensive liability in a corner OF spot.  I would not expect him to be much more than an average OF, but it takes a guy walking in at above-average levels to push him aside on a contender.

On a path that should see him get a cup of tea in 2018 at a minimum.

Hmm. Harrisburg is playing at Bowie August 8-10.  It'll definitely be worth a trip!

In his 13 games since getting to AA Harrisburg, Robles line is slashing .292/.358/.858 in 48 AB with 11 R 2 2B 1 3B 2 HR 6 RBI 2BB 7K

Going to see him on Thursday in Bowie. 11:05 AM first pitch? Count me in.

That's really impressive.  The jump from A ball to AA is arguably a bigger jump than from AA to AAA, which is oftentimes little more than finishing school for top prospects if they even go there at all.  We'll see if the league adjusts to him at all but that's a very promising start.  He may be ready for his first cup of coffee early next season.

I wonder if the Nats might try a Taylor / Goodwin

at the start of the year in left (or CF), run it for a couple months, and, if it is in any way short of what they want or if Robles kicks the door in, bring him up after the ASB.  1st injury to an outfielder, etc...  Would be less expensive than bringing in JD Martinez or some other big corner bat.
