second round picks don't have much value - how often do they even make a team? (Wizards second round picks look like a big heap of nothing to me http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/WAS/draft.html) If Oubre makes any impact at all down the road, good pick for ernie turning a number 19 into something (I'm not saying there isn't talent late in the draft, just that ernie isn't the guy who's going to ferret it out, so good move moving up without giving up anything)

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The Lakers chose Larry Nance Jr. with the 27th overall pick in the NBA draft on Thursday night, only to learn the Wyoming forward sent out a critical tweet about Kobe Bryant three years ago.

Nance has since deleted the tweet, which was widely shared on social media immediately after the Lakers selected Nance with their second first-round pick.
“Gee I sure hope Kobe can keep his hands to himself in Denver this time..,” Nance tweeted on May 1, 2012, adding the hashtag “rapist.”

Heard chad ford and Zach Lowe talking about oubre- raw talent who apparently has zero basketball iq, but he knows it and it doing three a days to learn - could end up a real steal for Ernie

The Truth lands in LA.  Sounds like he will get the same money over two years that the Wizards would have given him in 2015-16. He must have really wanted to be back in LA.  Anyways, time to move on. Thanks for the albeit brief memories.

kind of nice to see LA floundering in the same year Golden State wins a title

Wizards get Jared Dudley from Milwaukee for a future second round pick.  Decent player.
Pierce's replacement.  Need to pick up a backup shooting guard also but their options are limited due to having little cap space.  Looks like Rosney Stuckey and Wayne Ellington are the prime targets.

Stuckey's very underrated. He'd be a great backup 2.

Very cool.  Good luck to him.  Road trip to Vegas?

Gary Neal is a nice addition. He can bomb threes.

Yep.  He is a scorer.  One more slot to fill I believe.

If you ever feel like you're acting like a nag, look at DeAndre Jordan and you'll perk up a bit. He's in the same family as squid and octopi.

It is pretty pitiful but I put some of this on the sorry ass Clipper organization.    You'd think Elgin Baylor was still in charge.

Yeah but, why have this whole agree to contracts before you can actually sign them situation anyway

One of the talking heads asked the same question yesterday, "Why is there a week between agreeing to a contract and signing the contract?"    His point was when you agree to it, bring a pen and sign it.    The current format leads to mischief.    One of the other "bit*hes" in all this is Chris Paul.     Paul and Jordan are acting like two pre-teens.   I'd like to say that surprises me.

Mark Cuban in 3 ... 2  ... 1  ...     :asplode:

Thought maybe Dekker would go before Kaminsky.

Dekker is all ours, stoked he's a rocket (albeit 5th in the SF depth chart)

Wizards on at 6 tonight--with their roster filled it looks like the only guy from summer league on the fall roster will be Oubre.

Re: the Deandre Jordan fiasco, CP3 has always been a chump; same with Blake Griffin; now this guy Jordan has trumped them.  Doc Rivers is overrated as a coach also.  I never liked Pierce but was happy with hime last year here in DC.  Now back to wishing him the worst luck out there.  I hope they implode this year.

Lil Wiz down 13 at the half.    Alex Len (MD) is on the Phoenix roster.    Had a couple of nice slams.

Orioles are ugly for sure. Wish we had their manager though.

So, let's see.    The Bullets trade for/sign Dudley and his first order of business is to miss 3 or 4 months for back surgery.    Not a good start   ....

"During our discussions with Jared and his agent, Mark Bartelstein, we were made aware that he played with pain for a significant part of last season due to this injury," Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said in a prepared statement Tuesday. "After jointly consulting with our team doctors and several specialists, we collectively determined that this proactive approach was the best course of action to have him ready for the upcoming season and to prevent the risk of further injury."
