It's clear that they don't listen to anybody. The only thing they have ever done is put cup holders next to urinals. As a person with two hands, I didn't really need that improvement

Reminds me of taking a draft physical.     :)

Other venues, like the Amalie Arena and United Center, are so much nicer than Verizon Center.  I understand that housing both an NBA and NHL team, it may force some inherent restrictions, such as the size of the Jumbotron, but the phonebooth just seems really old and tired.  Not quite sure what can be done about that...

Well, the United Center houses NBA/NHL teams so that can't be an excuse. I haven't been to the arena since 2012, but last time I was there it seemed pretty well kept.

Oh, I know...odd thing is that the United Cener is 3 years older than the phone booth and is much more contemporary feeling.  Maybe they did a rehab?  Amalie is a delight.

I don't follow the Caps (hockey) like I do the Nats/Wiz/Steelers, etc.     Is the price of Hotlby's contract standard for a goalie of his skills?

Maybe a bit on the high side today at $6.1MM/yr, depending upon how it is structured...puts him in the top 10 of the 30.  Likely a good 5 year average if he performs like he did in 2015 for the next 5 seasons.

Marcus Johansson sets his worth at $4.75 million

 :hysterical:

http://www.csnwashington.com/hockey-washington-capitals/talk/marcus-johansson-sets-his-worth-475-million

arbitration numbers are mostly meaningless, i'm sure he's been negotiating at a lower rate.

regardless, his numbers are very, very favorable to his comparables. people hate on johansson and yes he has his flaws, but it's really hard to ignore his passing ability and skating speed. he's not some worthless player. he has a great track record for a 24-year-old. 345 games played. had a good year this year. i think he has more value in a trade than on our team, but he gets so much crap for stupid reasons.

He's a third liner.

Not in DC...unless, of course, your name is Laich.  Not even Brouwer or Ward got that kind of money.

Saying he is worth $4.75MM is comical at best.  I would rather pay Beagle that kind of money, and he's not worth it either.  If he gets over 3.8MM in arbitration, we should just let him go.

...and I don't hate him...I just don't think he is worth it...

Apparently Jim Rutherford subscribes to the "keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer" maxim. Fehr was a Penguin killer.

The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Marcus Johansson to a one-year, $3.75 million contract.

Good thing he doesn't need his wrists. His game would be the same if he wore casts on them
