People who don't live abroad at some point in their lives (or at least travel) always wish they had. You can at least catch the World Series on VOA or AFR shortwave

I don't wish I studied abroad and have no desire to live or work abroad. Would be happy to travel a little bit but don't have a strong sentiment to go do it for an extended period of time.

Once of the best features of today's university education are the study abroad requirements. I wish they had it back in my day. It makes our future workforce and decision makers at least somewhat sensitive to other cultures...I can never understand people who never want to step foot out of the US, especially given that major cities like DC are so multicultural...

I was actually going to say I think it's pretty beneficial to live in different parts of the US, sure you should want to understand other cultures but understanding the different regions of the country you live in would be a good thing.

But then one is expected to go interact with the poor folks in their community instead of flying around the world to go wallow in tourist luxury while insisting that you are somehow more sophisticated for having done so. And that's no fun

study abroad can be pretty plush, still exposes you to other view points though

Keep working it. You'll feel better. My nephew did a stint in the Peace Corps and said the homesickness fades. Experience of a lifetime, Bloo.

I've never been that messed up that I forgot/can't remember what I did. Plus, they're pretty damned good stories.
