If you used acorns on a clock instead of numbers, would the blind hog push the clock hands around to get at the acorns?  If he did, would the clock be right twice a day, or would the actions of the blind hog throw off the timing so it is never right?

5 K's tonight. Swing and misses.

Thus my point about him needing to improve contact.

So when I said we needed to address another bat, this is what I mean.

Revere and Taylor have been atrocious.

Revere is hitting .271 in June.  While not what we hoped for, it's hardly atrocious.

Taylor, on the other hand, is exactly who we thought he was. The guy needs to be sent down to work on his swing and his approach.

I don't like to judge a guy on one game or one play. But after watching Taylor play CF off and on for the last two years, whatever scout referred to him as "the best Center Fielder on the Planet" should never be trusted to evaluate players.

Good thing he gets a day off to clear his head.  I see that a lot of posters are writing him off after one bad game, but has anyone bothered to look at his slash line this month:

.340 / .365 / .560 in 52 PAs with 2HRs and 4SBs.

I'd bet that's among the best among OF'rs in baseball (for comparison - Trout in June: .239 / .349 / .408, 2HR, 4SB in 83 PAs).   So we're going to cut him after one bad game?  This reminds me of those who wanted to cut Robinson last year after he got picked off at first to end a game against the Cubs in June.

He makes a ton of base running blunders doesn't he?  Like really ridiculous ones, I don't know, he can hit sometimes but overall I'm pretty underwhelmed by him.

Yes, he makes mental mistakes running and fielding.  You have to assume he can grow out of those.

He goes hot and cold awfully fast. How does a guy hitting so well strike out five times and never even make contact?  And mostly fastballs at that.
