MAT was really good defensively in the 3 games I was him. Outplayed Cain defensively by a pretty big margin, IMO. It's really not fair to him to keep putting him in the leadoff spot. He's not a leadoff hitter. I think everyone knows it, even Dusty, he just doesn't think he has a better option that doesn't upset the whole rest of the lineup.

Leadoff or not, last night in the 8th, the pitcher was struggling very very badly. Taylor swung at multiple balls way outside the zone. Don't help a guy on the ropes by walking up and lowering your fists.  As for the typo in the first, I'm getting bizarre but entertaining visuals of 'Being John Malokovich.'

Not sure what part of my quote makes you think I disagree.

Not sure if I was disagreeing.  I was certainly agreeing with the suggestion to send him to AAA, I just wasn't sure we had the same reason, but apparently we do.
By the way, it appears our suggestion is being ignored.  Looks like Revere is in the lineup and den Decker got sent down. Oh well.

Yeah, Taylor is a righty...I think that is the only reason...can't be for performance.

Being a righty is Heisey's job, and, in a month, Espinosa can PH right handed.  Perhaps the team thinks Taylor has hit his ceiling as J-Max 2.0 so his best use is as a defensive sub for Werth, a pinch runner, and a second righty pinch hitter for a short period.

If nothing else, this means den Dekker gets multiple bats every night and can be ready for a full time sub if he comes up (keeping MAT in the bench/defensive sub role).

Taylor could tear it up at AAA and it won't mean a thing as far as I'm concerned.  He tore it up in Spring Training, which is essentially AAA. It is said that we all rise to our level of incompetence.  His level is major league pitching.  Yes, for sure, send him to AAA. But not for more development. Send him there to pile up numbers and rehabilitate his reputation, so we can get something for him in trade.  He will never be a major league hitter.

He never has though. He basically skipped the level.

Gomez plays for the Astros now. And he might actually be worse than Taylor

Didn't disagree. Couldn't wait for his bat to be back. He's a LF guy at best though

Then he fits well on the team. Our RFer should be in left, and our LFer should be at first
