None of this changes the fact that Strasburg continues to struggle with locating his fastball.

I agree, but there's only so much you can do when you're getting neither the outside edge nor the low strike

Strasburg so bad. Not even a top 25 pitcher in the game.

I'd rather have Gerrit Cole.

Remember when we drafted him and the scouts were drooling not only for his arm but also his fierce competitive nature and his desire to win?
Umm.
What happened?  Is he so arrogant now that he thinks he's a first ballot hall of famer and doesn't need to try anymore?
He got shot down and the league figured out that his fastball doesn't move.

Guys, the problem is more complicated than you're suggesting. Strasburg and Ramos are clearly fighting, and whatever the problem is, Ramos is part of it. They need to stop being little kids and settle their disagreement. They need to play nice.

But Keith Hernandez is saying the kid's just making excuses. "It's a grown man's game. Helps to be a grown man when you pitch. He's just too good. I'd rip up my baseball card in a second to have his talent."

You could substantially increase that number in your sentence and still be accurate.

Yeah, but I remember 2012, and his fastball moved like CRAZY.

2nd   Plawecki doubled to deep center, Flores scored.   0   1
2nd   Granderson singled to shallow right, Plawecki scored, Granderson to second.

Washington Nationals  0
          New York Mets           2

Everyone is noticing that he isn't using all his pitches anymore.  Ramos is reputed to be a great game caller.  If they're fighting, it's either because he's afraid of some of his pitches, or straight refuses to use them.

Enjoy those two 13 run games because it'll be a while until we see that again.  Likely we'll be shutout tonight and tomorrow night against Harvey.  That evens things out.

When is Strasburg done with us?  Next season?  Can't come soon enough.

Ramos is regarded as an all-offense catcher.  Lobaton is the well-regarded caller.

Until the Red Sox or Yankees sign him and he wins 25 games

Why is Strasburg having Escobar catch a fly ball on the pitcher's mound?

Pitchers rarely catch those pop flies in my view.

Lobaton is a better blocker, pitch-framer, and runner-gunner.  As for calling, Ramos is spoken very highly of.

Escobar probably called him off.

ok, we need to make him work a little bit more.  Need a few hits, elevate that pitch count.

Just checking. I am not a part of the prima donna conspiracy.

Pitchers are supposed to get out of the way on pop-ups.
