Melvin Upton Jr. put in a walking boot for next 6 weeks. Off to a good start.

Gives Eury Perez a chance to prove himself. It should be fun to play the Braves this year.

I think a slash line of .235/.270/.300 is what his future holds.

In 2 innings of work, Northeastern University's Aaron Civale struck out David Ortiz, Hanley Ramirez, Mike Napoli, and Xander Bogaerts.  Sox beat the Huskies, 2-1, when Luke Montz scored on an error.

Red Sox open Spring Training with an annual double header against NU and BC.  Before the games, they honored Peter Frates, former captain of BC's baseball team.  Frates has ALS, and he and his friends started the ice-bucket challenge.

Haha nah. To each his own. I was just saying that I don't find it romantic in the way you might when you're in your mid-20s.

Also, the kid from Into The Wild should have lightened up and called his mother more :)

You know, I'm not gonna judge. If he really enjoys it, good for him. I'd rather be drinking and carousing and living in a decent apartment, sure. But that's me, and that's him. If he's faking it or being insincere or not really sure what makes him happy, that's one thing, but if he's having the time of his life and loves every day, hey, good for him.

When I worked at the College World Series way back when, I really, really considered living out of a van for those two weeks I basically lived there anyway. If I had to do it over again, I probably would do it.
