Rick Ankiel, Life Skills Coordinator.  Not sure what that is but he seems like a good guy so welcome back to the Nats.

Have the non-roster invitees among the minor leaguers been announced? Do any of our mid tier (#10-20) top prospects not on the 40-man have a chance to be invited to big league camp? (i.e. Pedro Severino, Tony Renda, Austin Voth, Spencer Kieboom)

Nats News: Syracuse manager Billy Gardner, Jr is the son of Billy Gardner, Washington Senators' starting 2B in 1960. Gardner was one of the players added for 1960 who tightened the team enough to make a run for the first division...fell off at the end of the season when Camilo Pascual had to be shut down because of a shoulder injury suffered in a brawl with Boston, a brawl that began when Boston hit Nats' catcher Earl Battey in the head. Gardner, Battey, CF Lenny Green were the notable additional players, plus youngsters Jim Kaat, Zorro Versalles (a September call-up), and Don Lee.

I had a card of Billy Gardner in the 50's. He had a giant piece of chaw in his mouth.

!

Tim Redding's birthday is today.  He's only 37 years old.  I was sure he'd be in his forties.

Note that Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez are staying in Viera for now, both are expected to end up at Potomac.

Probably too cold for them.  Hope Giolito gets here soon.
