Gronk was a Pittsburgh HS guy.   :)     As an aside, he was from Williamsville, NY.   Back in the day, there was a club called "The Inferno" there.     Man, that place was the crapz.    My aunt and uncle lived in Amherst/Snyder, NY.    I spent many a night at "The Inferno" in '67.

Only bars I know are Slomba's and the Anchor Var in Buffalo or Amherst.  Stopped there on the way out to my roomate's wedding in Cleveland in 1980. I may have hit more bars, but I don't remember because i was drunk at the time.

Until I saw the year I was picturing a disco, like "Disco Inferno", with lighted dance floor and mirror ball  and it did not fit with the lyrics I've seen you quote

Oh I'm sure, the music you grew up with puts the 70's stuff I grew up with to shame, although now that I think about it the 80's may have been worse, man there was some bad music in the 80's.  The 60's?  All awesome all the time.

The deep cuts of the '60s were even better IMHO.    Every town/city had a niche.

Per @JayGlazer the #Eagles offered the Bucs two number 1’s a QB and a player for the first overall pick

I guess Tampa really loves Winston.

The NFL marketing machine is now trying vigorously to figure out how to make everyone forget about Winston's various incidents.

Yup. Reporting stuff that other news sites won't is Deadspin's primary function IMO.

http://wtop.com/sports/2015/05/joe-namath-says-he-wouldnt-play-football-again-over-concussion-risk/

If it hadn't been for football, he would have died of cirrhosis after spending his life at B & W or the cork plant in Beaver Falls.   I understand what he's talking about but he needs to keep it real.
