2015 Inductees:

John Smoltz
Randy Johnson
Pedro Martinez
Gary Sheffield
Craig Biggio

That's it...other than Pete should be there, as mitlen has already noted.
Haven't you seen the Sketchers commercial. Pete has to stay out of the hall.

Agree completely

Pete Rose  bet on baseball and lied about it for ~ 10 years, then only admitted to it to sell a book - which was timed to be released the same time as the HOF vote. Pete Rose can rot in hell.

Still funny that the all time and single season home runs leader isn't in the hall of fame

So you don't believe Henry Aaron did any illegal drugs...despite his admission?

VARK - you have define what you mean by laws here.  Have MLB players agreed to a league regulation not to bet on ballgames ?

Whenever I hear about Aaron or Brett I know I'm old.  Remember seeing them as little kids at a phillies game with their Dad.  One of those Father and Son days. Now they are retired. Sigh.

Piazza is next at 70%, Bagwell and Raines at 55%.  Schilling up to 39%.

Delgado cut.  Mattingly dropped due to years on ballot.

97% for RJ, 91% for Pedro, Smoltz and Biggio in low 80s.

This starts to clear backlog.

2 people voted for Aaron Boone and 1 for Darin Erstad.

BBWAA continues to be such a joke.

Also if Delgado was a Yankee he'd still be on the ballot.

Biggio, Johnson, Smoltz and Martinez make it.

I had those 4 but also thought Gary Sheffield would make it...not so much, I guess...

Piazza should have gotten in, but at least he's moving in the right direction and will probably make it next year.  The others all deserve eventual election.

so what's more disappointing, Erstad and Boone getting votes, or Randy Johnson not being a unanimous selection?

Each writer should get up to five additional votes for players not to make the HoF but to stay on the ballot for another year.  That way, they won't have to say, "I know X is going to make it so I won't vote for him and vote for Y, hoping he gets enough votes to stay on the ballot."

If that had been the case this year, I'll bet Johnson and Martinez would have gotten more votes.

Looking ahead to 2016...

First ballot locks: Ken Griffey Jr.

The rest:
Jim Edmonds,  Trevor Hoffman, Billy Wagner, Troy Glaus, Mike Hampton, Jason Kendall, Mike Sweeney, Garret Anderson, David Eckstein, Mike Lowell, Bengie Molina, Chan Ho Park.

Hoffman can make a case, but I don't see any of the rest of that group getting in.  That should open the door a bit to Piazza, Schilling, Mussina, Bagel, and Reigns.
