Except that had Cherington or Farrell actually said that, they would be slapped with tampering fines.

why? you arent allowed to say you want to pursue a player in a trade? how would it be tampering?

Do we know for sure if they want Bryce or Brian?

I'm more than willing to trade Brian Harper to Boston.

it's on hold until the world series is over as the Red Sox need a third team.  Current rumor is Hudson and Peavy to the Nats, Harper to the Red Sox, and 100lbs of lobster to Brian Sabian

Giants should probably throw in Posey to the Sox. Sox could use a catcher and Sabean could use another 25 lbs of lobster.

You see, this is why I get peeved at these trade rumors.  Anyone who knows lobster like Sabean would specify that the lobsters have to be live, and the size.  Sabean wouldn't want lobsters bigger than 1 1/2 pounds because the meat gets stringy.  That's why I think this is all phony.

As a person who grew up in New England, I can't agree with this.  My family loved 2 to 2.5 pound lobsters

I remember when 2 pounders were the standard size. My 9th grade physics teacher was from Cape Cod, and he used to get a 15+ pouund lobster for Thanskgiving.  When you start getting to the 5 pound or more, the quality of the meat really starts going down.  My brother's wife's family are Nova Scotian fishing people, and my sister-in-law's mother makes a great lobster stew, but she uses bodies or whole lobster in the range I'm talking about, depending on price.  Truth is, there's probably no such thing as a bad tasting lobster, but the primo stuff can't get too big. Remember, size is a function of age with lobsters, so those big ones get beat up a bit.

I still stand by my proposed package. And sure, throw in Detwiler.

Mookie Betts
Xander Bogaerts
Henry Owens
Garin Cecchini
Allen Webster
Koji Uehara (half of contract paid for)
Mike Napoli (contract paid for)

That offer, I would consider. Anything less, I would not.

The usual suspects claim that Boston will try to sign Pablo Sandoval. See: http://nesn.com/2014/10/san-francisco-giants-official-pablo-sandoval-would-love-boston/

Reasoning? (1) "The bigger the stage the better he plays", approximately, and (2) Boston used ? and ?? at 3B in 2014. Therefore...
