Only Panda fills the bill of a LH power hitter and he's a liability at 3rd (anywhere in the field).

Panda's not a liability in the field. Just because he's fat doesn't mean he's a liability.  he's at worst average.  Utley and Zobrist still hit enough home runs to be equivalent to what Bryce did this year (that is, the role of the #2 lefty power guy), and I expect Bryce to step up next year as the #1 lefty power guy in the line up to replace ALR's production.  Getting Panda would be an upgrade, getting Zobrist or Utley would be a backfill move.

Agree that Panda is the only position upgrade that is apparently available, but not at all sure about the golden boy's near future as cleanup hitter. If they don't get Panda, be concerned.

The same people who say this about Sandoval probably called for Zimmerman to be back at 3B and he's been bad there for a while.

Wouldn't it be nice if our catcher made great plays behind the plate like Perez instead of screwing up at every opportunity?

I don't get baseball. So what's the formula to win? Just build a mediocre enough team to squeak in the playoffs and pray that players who have been bad all year turn into hall of fame superstars for a few weeks?
