Between the Dodgers and the Angels there's a whole lot of cash that didn't do dirty thump.  What, half a billion in payroll or so?

AL looks like the WalMart model of payroll management.

Don't pay OT?  Maybe that why LAA and the Tigers tanked.

Yes - total payrolls for KC & Oakland combined were less than the dry cleaning bills for a lot of teams.
Cheap ???

I felt good about yesterday but nervous tonight. We need early runs to give us breathing room. Go Nats!

MDS coming out of retirement
...If I'm Mike Rizzo I'm telling these guys one thing before they get thrown to the lions at AT&T this afternoon - "nobody gives a crap what's happened before today, I certainly don't.  Go out there and play this game like it's your last because for some of you it will be, at least in a Nats uniform.  History only remembers winners, nobody gives a crap about regular season accomplishments.  Do you think anybody remembers the 2001 Mariners?  freak no.  But everyone remembers the 2004 Red Sox.  Don't go out like a nag."

The planets are in alignment and the ugliest mob of web-fingered swamp critters awaits in the NLCS.  The next two games should be a formality.

While the sun is up, winds still blowing out to CF. We have to take advantage of that. Wind direction can change on a dime there especially at night.

I, too, am very nervous. My nephew insisted on coming over to watch the game, although I warned him how intense it might get.

It's funny that this year I'm finding watching postseason games on TV somehow more nerve wracking than in person.

Excellent. Would have been excellent+ if you incorporated tonight's blood moon into that. ;)
