"Everyone counted the Nasty Nats out of this series and said they were thinking of golf and vacations instead of on winning the game yesterday.  To those people I say - freak you and go to hell.  They haven't covered themselves in glory, by no means, but they're not going down without a fight.  The over/under is 6 1/2 but with Bryce Harper finally heating up and putting one over the fence yesterday I see this as more of a 6-5 slugfest.  I don't trust Drew Storen or that future war criminal Matt Williams not freak this game up in the late innings but if Gentleman Gio can stay focused this is a signature win for the season."

I don't mind a 9:00 PM start so much as I dislike the probable post-midnight finish on a weeknight. That's life, though, when you have a large number of people living in the wrong time zone!

The advantage of radio - just listen on the bedside radio (I have to get up at 05.15 weekdays myself so this works well for me). Only problem is, one tends to drift off to sleep (especially in my current case with all the meds I'm taking - slept through the Ramos bunt last night).

Meanwhile - how some are taking it over there: http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/San_Francisco_Giants/Ticket_Zone/This_series_is_over_Nats_in_5/ml-giants/155459.1?nav=messages

I actually like the later start. I can finish up dinner and put the kids to bed and watch the game in peace.

I'm not worried at all about Gio, I think he'll pitch a gem. But I don't trust our bats at all. Yeah we scored 4 runs yesterday but 2 were off a really fluky error on a bunt. Vogelsong's ERA isn't great but it's always these type of mediocre Ps that completely shut us down.

I feel bad for all the students that have early classes tomorrow. I mean, I'd stay up no matter what, but thankfully I have no 8ams. Go Nats!

I work for a living and miss the protective womb of academia. I do not feel bad for any students.

As a current student, I can safely say that the late-night start is no problem for me.  Hell, I ended up going to bed at 3 AM this morning, and woke up at 7.  All students should be able to master this.

Downside of being a student: I'll probably have to ask a homeless person to purchase me alcohol if the Nationals lose, though.

I don't intend that to be the case, though.  freak the Giants.  freak San Francisco, and freak Nancy Pelosi.  Go Nationals!  :w:

Isn't he a Barves fan?  I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers on this board who would happily provide pro bono services here.

Late start but will be staying up to watch it. Hoping Gio gets his groove early and that the run support appears early enough that it can last through the late innings. Let's do this! I want to see baseball in person in DC this week!

I've been in NY/Philly for a while now, my bad.  Gotta have go-go though, we even grew up with that down in the 540.

in hubby's defense he has really been pulling for the Nats post season. He was there with me all 18 innings Saturday night and last night. But even though I am going to watch the nats game I have to have it recording too just in case one of those one in a lifetime moments happen. and that only leaves us room to dvr one more show. which leaves me the chicago fire or sons of anarchy decision.

off topic.. who won last night between the dodgers and the cards?
