One thing for sure  - down the stretch, Souza's not phoning it in.

One nice thing about playing the young'ns.

Yes, let's trade away our young talent as soon as a couple nice hits are struck

Trade Harper for Robinson Cano, promote Souza and Taylor, platoon them both in LF and occasionally play them both so you can rest Werth or Span?

Span CF
Rendon 3B
Werth RF
Cano 2B
Face 1B
Desmond SS
Souza or Taylor LF
Ramos C

STACKED.

No thanks, I don't want the over priced Cano

Taylor will most likely be a Top 50 prospect next season. Meaning the Nationals will have three: Giolito, AJ Cole, and Taylor

Hey, I didn't suggest trading Rendon.  He's our young talent.  Harper is a set of muscles with no discipline.  I hope he pulls it together, but for now he's frustrating as heck!

Well he must have at least All-Star potential. Can't be sure of that for Taylor or Souza yet.

Just started watching but Hill is nibbling too much. Is his fastball/sinker that bad of a patch?

Yep, going to be a slug fest if they're going to win.

Now that's bad. Hill looks like Minor League fodder.

Bad stuff. No guts to get out of jam.

Imagine how frustrating this inning would be if it meant anything.

Don't see how the team ERA will end the season under 3.00 now :(

Hasn't pitched in 3+ weeks. First MLB start. I think we can cut him a bit of a break.

If he had gotten out of the inning up 4-3, sure.

Too bad. Oh well, let's watch the young bats.

Pretty good for a spot starter first start call up who hasn't pitched a real game at any level in a while.  Game is within two runs and not over by any stretch.

I wouldn't have minded seeing him taken out a batter earlier, but hindsight, right?

Yep, Got gassed at about 85 pitches. Frankly, was to be expected.

Ross Detwiler in a nutshell. No secondary pitch. You knew if he kept throwing fastball, Hechavarria would eventually crush one of em.

A well placed curve or change would have been an easy out.

Welp, I think Blevins is going to win the battle of the second lefty in the playoffs. Sad Detwiler will go from 2012 to this.
