Remember: Ian spotted CALSGR8 along the real. She was wearing an Ian Desmond tee-shirt, so he made a u-turen and spent five or ten minutes talking. The gave here his batting gloves, signed.

That's "old time baseball", like the stories kids would tell of playing catch with Roy Sievers and Jim Lemon around their apartment complex. I saw Bob Allison and Harmon Killebrew at PG Plaza one evening. Harmon so bashful he hardly spoke.

Fifty years later, a buddy of mine from Bank of New York was invited to a Hal of Fame dinner, probably because BNY had donated money to Cooperstown. Colleague was seated next to a humble guy named Harmon Killebrew. Wondered if I had ever heard of Killebrew (my friend was not a baseball fan). Friend said, "You wouldn't guess...never...that the quiet guy is famous". As Harmon was in 1959, so he was a year or two before he died. A model human being.

Sign Ian. He was our kid, one of the first to become a core player. Zim and Ian, and...
