I'm going to go ahead and say I don't think women should be allowed in the NBA and I won't say it behind closed doors. The NBA is a much more physical sport than a lot of people give it credit for. Body blows are an everyday occurrence for 82 games a year. No one is going to argue that women are physically as strong as men are and the fact is that it's probably a good idea from a safety perspective not to allow women in the NBA than to run the experiment and see something truly awful happen to the woman in terms of injury. Additionally, I feel like any good guy who happens to have found his way into the NBA is going to be hesitant to get as physical with a woman as he would with a man (like it or not, there is a naturally chivalrous instinct) and that cheapens the game. Is there a woman on Earth who could hang with athletes the caliber of NBA players blow for blow? I'm sure there is but I'm also quite certain there are enough that may have the talent to appear to be NBA-ready but whose bodies simply wouldn't hold up to the stress.
Baseball is different. There is much less physical play in baseball (obviously there is some but it is very limited and certainly not a key aspect of the game). I would have no problem with a woman playing in MLB. In fact, I would absolutely love to see that happen.
