Stadium Name
« Topic Start: July 19, 2014, 08:46:46 PM »
Instead of selling the naming rights for Nats Park to a corporation, let's name it Navy Yard Memorial Stadium in honor of all our citizens in danger that day and accompany the naming with a special fundraising drive for a memorial in the stadium, rest of the funds to go to the Dream Foundation.  "GEICO Stadium"  "PNC Stadium"  Gross.  Not in keeping with such a great team with great owners in the nation's capital.

welcome to the board.

Suggestions and requests section is for suggestions and requests for how to run the board.  Suggestions for cheers and park names belong in the Clubhouse.

If you like the owners you're in luck because they're waiting to dedicate it to Ted Lerner.

I like Nationals Park. But I'm a simple man with simple pleasures.

If the Lerners' ownership group hasn't sold the naming rights after NINE years, I don't think there are any plans to do so at all.

I like "Nationals Park", which makes the stadium one of the few not named for some bank.

Stadiums are for football. Baseball gets played in ballparks.

I like Nationals Park. However, if a corporate sponsor comes along throwing a ton of cash at us, I hope we take it.

Maybe they'll sell the naming rights to MASN as part of the 5 year reset.  :mg:

They can open up a pavillion along the waterfront side sponsored by Coca-Cola and name it after Councilman Barry.

I was virtually certain that it would be named for SAIC at some point, but they seem to have gone after smaller fry (DC United), so I guess we can probably rule out BAE Systems, General Dynamics, and so forth.  Maybe "Flex-able Hose Field"

I thought Exxon Mobil but they relocated HQ to Houston Irving (suburban Dallas).
I'm about 2 miles from their HQ right now.

I'd like to see Taxpayers for Common Sense splurge a little and pick up the naming rights.  What the heck.  It's only money.

Why not the biggest company HQ'd in the area perhaps - Mars?

We could replace the Presidents with racing M&M's.
