...His broken hand held up a deal that would have brought Encarnacion from the Marlins, and Ole Juan could have hit for us half as well as against us, that would have been a major upgrade... Oh Well...

J/k I'm not really blaming our problems on this, but hindsight is 20/20  :wink:.

When that trade was discussed I was all for it, and people on the mlb board laughed at me.  They all thought that it would take away at bats from Church, who may be a nice player one day, but has come back to Earth after his hot streak.  Encarnacion would immediately be the best hitter on our team if he was here. Instead we got Preston Wilson.  

While I know you were making a joke, I lament that the trade was not consumated.

Is it a fact that Miami was Day's original place of destination, and Encarnacion the player in return?

It has been reported as such, though some accounts had a 3rd team involved somehow.
