A Nats wiki might be more interesting and unique than a blog.

Actually, that might not be a bad idea.

And this is just the kind of community that WOULD make sure there's a full page bio of Junior Spivey.

Populating a blog is probably a lot easier than a wiki. Although it would be pretty cool if it could be done.

Though I think that the content of a wiki and blog would be different. I imagine a blog would be more about current analysis and opinions on players and teams, while a WNFF wiki would be more about jokey player and team profiles compiled by the more humorous members of this board. Or are you suggesting a serious Wiki?

I'll admit the first things that came to mind were "in" jokes and wnff meme type things  but a serious one isn't a bad idea.

I was thinking along the lines of a wiki that could be used to record the early years of the Nats while we still remember them, and then of course continue into the present. The other day I Googled up a question about the original sale to the Lerners and couldn't find the info I wanted, but I did find some great quotes from Stan Kasten, it would be good to store all of that stuff in one spot where it would be easy to find five, ten, and twenty years from now.

This is something that a small group like WNFF could get started but would require a much larger group to fill in the hundreds or thousands of possible pages. It would be cool to get the final analysis of controversial decisions such as Bowden's failure to trade Soriano documented, but there would also have to be tons of shorter write-ups for guys like Rob Mackowiak. The old Senators and Greys information would be a nice too.

Certainly a WNFF page with the in jokes would have to be included, but that sort of stuff would not drive the page views or enough general interest to make such an undertaking sustainable. It would have to be more along the lines of http://awoiaf.westeros.org/, a comprehensive go-to source for the Nats team history.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mindfact

Quote
1. Mindfact
(n.)Something that you believe to be absolutely, undoubtedly true, regardless of the presence or absence of any evidence proving it so, and despite any and all evidence that is contrary.
place the word at the end of any statement of opinion. - (i.e. Albert Pujols is a terrible baseball player. Mindfact.)

Origin:

Assclown: what does that matter? They do not know the entire Nationals system as well as I and others on here do and that is fact.

Linty: Prove it. If it's a fact you should have no problem doing so.

Assclown: how can I prove it?

I don't see why I need to anyways. I don't care what anyone thinks. It is a fact in my mind.

So a weekly column about Nathan?

What do you write about after week 3?     You can only squeeze so much material out of Colorfest.

What happened to Nat of the Living Dead/Nats NQ?  He, uh, rarely seemed to suffer from writer's block.  Prolixity is blog KY.

So should we crack on with this, there seems to be some interest? It would be cool if we could get it going for some Spring Training action.
