The Winter Olympics just don't get me amped up like the Summer ones do, but I was watching a bit of ice skating with the wife last night and that 15 year old Russian was spectacular.

I just don't like how much unnecessary judging there is- ski jump isn't who goes the farthest, there is also an artistic element, mogul isn't fastest down the mountain, it's who keeps their knees together.

She is incredible but seriously, am I the only person on earth who finds the Winter Olympics way more thrilling than the Summer games??

I don't know maybe it's because of all the snow related stuff, but the hockey is awesome.

Dutch twins #1/#3 in the men's 500m long track...oh, and who won silver?  A Dutch guy.

Guess all those centuries of skating on canals paid off.

That was a lot of fun. Felt bad for #2 who thought he won until his time was changed by .01 tenths of a second.

Even the twin that finished #3 looked pissed to have not won. Looked like there could be some tense moments with the Dutch.

I assume the King had the Queen pick up the bill for the trip.

Better scenery. Much more of a daredevil factor. Try to find the snl skit where telemundo covers the winter games

Curling started today. I'm probably the only one, but I think it's my favorite winter sport.

As I recall, back in 2006, it was mentioned that at least one of the women's curling teams made a swimsuit calendar. That why you like it?

We know why you watch it.
After the 2010 CILFs sensation, there really aren't many obscure winter sports that only get shown at odd hours.

I think a lot of people like it. Good amount of strategy and suspense involved.

The biathlon would be better if it was downhill skiing

there are two people I can't stand: people intolerant of other cultures and the Dutch.

That is certainly a component. But I enjoy the men's game too. The strategy and skill involved gets me excited in a pretty lame way.

Would be much less of a challenge though.
