It's super early, but he is getting pulled b/c the Giants are always up. If their offense is actually for real, they are looking like a really good team.

Ian Krol just pitched a scoreless 8th inning for the Tigers. Allowed a 1 out double to Hanley Ramirez (Nats killers don't forget I guess), but that's it.

Recently, with the increase in size of big league players, I think that average may have increased a tick from both sides.

Every time I saw Oakland A's outfield prospect Billy Burns in Spring Training this year, he consistently ran from home to first in less than four seconds. Every time. Sometimes it was 3.82, others 3.9. But it was fast. Plenty fast.

And Burns didn't stay at first base very long. He stole 10 bases, while being caught only three times. A single or a walk became a double.

The man is fast -- very fast. Burns has the instincts required to steal bases. He knows what he's doing, and he'll only get better.

The A's acquired Burns from the Washington Nationals in exchange for highly effective left-handed reliever Jerry Blevins. It was the type of transaction that could become important to the futures of both clubs.

Joe Nathan was in for the Tigers in the bottom of the 9th with the Tigers leading the Dodgers 6-4. He proceeded to blow the save and send the game into extras. Kenley Jansen comes in in the top of the 10th and gives up a homer, giving the Tigers back the lead 7-6. It was like some bizzaro universe where Rafael Soriano is the closer for both teams.

In the bottom of the 10th, Joba Chamberlin starts for the Tigers and gives up a hit to Hanley Ramirez. Ausmus goes to bullpen because two lefties are coming up for the Dodgers, Gonzalez and Ethier. He brings in Ian Krol. Krol strikes them both out and the Tigers go one to win the game, 7-6.

Minnesota prefers to play retreads and AAAAers. See Kubel, Bartlett, Suzuki, Mastroianni, Florimon, etc.

he's on the roster, burning MLB eligibility time? He had 30 days service before this. Why on earth is he the back up instead of some jamoke for a month and a half? At least push him under a full year's service time by the end of this year, and give him regular PT in Rochester.
