Barves are now officially eliminated from wildcard contention

Heard from a Mets fan this afternoon. Jumped and danced. Ah, joy! Met fans expects them to push ahead of Braves and to finish second in NL East. Only 1/2 games behind Barfs now.

Next year? Mets will be tough, good starters, but missing a couple of corner OFs and then some depth. The next challenger in NL East.

Don't expect the Braves to sit quietly this winter. Marlins aren't that far behind either.

I think the Mets and Marlins will both be much improved next year. The Barves have a lot of issues and I have a feeling Fredi gets canned next Monday, along with some front office folks. They've got some holes to fill and they're still stuck with BJ Upton. Even with injuries, their pitching staff has been pretty decent but their offense is horrible despite some quality hitters like Freeman in the lineup. Earvin Santana ripped into the offense today, saying that the pitching staff is doing well but that they have to pitch a complete game shutout for a chance to win (this is after he gave up five runs today).

Will the fire Fredi at the end of the reg season?  I hear that some are wanting Ripken as the next Barves manager

If they don't fire him tomorrow he'll get to finish the season.

Wren's out, wonder why they didn't wait until the end of the season?
