Here's a dumb a**** question.    How do podcasts work and how do you access them?

Short version: You access them via an app on your smart phone/tablet.
Old school way: You download them onto your iPod.

They are serialized radio style shows on a huge variety of topics. Basically think downloading Garrison Keillor and listening to him on your own time instead of on Saturday night.

It's old school for me.    :)    I don't have a smart phone or tablet.

They're basically just radio shows- pretty much any on topic. If you have apple products, you can get them through itunes, if you have android- there are a ton of apps same with PCs. Generally speaking they've free

I think you've got an iPod, right? You should be able to download to that.

I have an IPod but that's for music.   I don't wanna get confused.    :)

Goofball.

Open up iTunes and you will see a link for Podcasts on the left. Pick some that sound interesting, download em, and listen to them just like normal songs. They simply get saved to Podcasts folder instead of music.

Most everything is available as a podcast now. Radio is basically appointment podcast listening now.

That's so weird. :|

Prettymuchit covers movie, tv show, and video game news. They're a bit crass but funny.

Louder with Crowder is a conservative based podcast on culture. (Go ahead, flame me).

I've been enjoying Reply All and Surprisingly Awesome.

And then venerable 99%Invisible. (Has any podcast been around long enough to be venerable?)

Dan carlin's been around since 2006, bs report since 2007- I don't think you get much beyond that with stand alone podcasts

He seems like a brilliant guy. A little hyper/intense, but a brilliant guy.

Effectively Wild from Baseball Prospectus is a rambling, near daily podcast.

if you find us history interesting, you should listen to 10 American presidents podcast - really in depth look at Nixon/Washington/FDR so far- best production quality of any podcast that I've ever listened to
