I do...it's really nice to have those kind of experiences and realize how special they are when they are happening.  That's why I'm really SSS, you don't get many seasons like last year in your baseball fan life span, and even times like the last six weeks don't happen very often.
That's the way I felt about the Pats in 2007, didn't end the way we wanted but man what an awesome season that was

Clemente's 3000th hit.

You were there for that?

I watched the '71 series on an Army base.   :)

My father used to have a ton of those sports movies that you played on a projector and watched on the wall and that was one of the ones he owned so I watched that one many times. I remember the time when I was 11 and my younger brother found two of those reels under our older brother's mattress and we took them to the basement to watch them.

That was before my time so I don't know how people felt about it but, putting aside what actually happened to Clemente 3 months later, was there a feeling that Clemente, nearing the end of his career, may not play again?

If this lasts three more innings I eagerly await to see the board's reaction.

No, he really hadn't slowed down too much, he had at least a couple of years left...and the Pirates were a really solid club in the '70s.

That's not the way I remember it.   We felt "The Great One" would play another 10 years.

Forget the forum, I don't want this to happen mainly because I don't know if I can put up with the infamy attached to it and the way the media will treat it.
