Yeah, it's not going to start on time.  Wonder if they wait until the wee hours to start once the rain clears or if they play two tomorrow.

The pregame ceremony to honor Davey Johnson has been postponed due to weather. #Nats

DH tomorrow if they cancel. I'm going tomorrow either way. I always try to catch the last game.

Yeah, it's tough to "honor" him in the rain.

A real DH to close the home season--all tactical pitching considerations aside--would be a fine motherfricking thing

Cubs scored 2 in bottom of 8th, lead Atlanta 3-1, possibly delaying a Saturday night celebration.

Any idea how long?

I think, at this point, they should bump strasburg till tomorrow. Pitch Roark and back him up with Ross if the game gets stopped before the 5th. If it gets stopped after the 5th, go with Stammen. Push Strasburg to tomorrow and tell him, Gio, and Jordan they're going every 4 days and whatever their throw day is could potentially be done in a game as a relief appearance.

So I'm down here and it's barely raining - what exactly are they waiting on? Is there any projected start time as of yet?

Do we care which won wins so long as it's lopsided over 5 games?

Not really.  I wrote that when the Reds took an early lead (it's tied 2-2 now), and I think it's more likely they dominate the Pirates in their last five meetings than the other way around.

and the last 3 are in Cincy. And the Pirates finish with 6 on the road vs. 6 at home for the Reds.  Now that they're tied root for the Reds because the Pirates have the harder path.

Yes, it's still raining  :D

Looks like another heavier band coming through the western suburbs now, and the back line of this system is east of I-81.  It'll take a while to get here though - I'd say at least another 90 minutes to 2 hours before it subsides enough to play ball.  Just my guess - I'm not a weatherman, I don't play one on TV, and I didn't stay at Holiday Inn Express last night.
