Considering he's playing with an injured LEFT ARM, it might have been prudent for someone to consider, in the first inning, when you have a chance to score runs, just this once, it might have been wise to put aside the ego of being the #3 hitter and advance the runners. You know, with the injured arm and all, and it's the first inning. He'd likely have three more at bats to swing for the fences...after the team had put some runs on the board in the first inning.
