0-2 count single :lmao:

Game over. Why can't we hit like that?

You would think that double play would've done something to help, but no.

Zimmermann should be our #2 in the rotation.

The Braves best hitters (Freeman and Johnson) are great at shortening their strike to put the ball into play to drive in runs. The Nats don't have any players like this. None.

Even with this B-team lineup, the Braves are better than the Nationals.  Why the hell didn't we bunt?

Because we don't know how to.

Because a weak flyout was the much better option.

Yes, I'm sure he planned it that way.

Seriously.  This team needs a complete overhaul.  It's astounding we won yesterday's game.

can we limit the damage?

Well sort of - just 2 runs.

Sometimes though, that's all opponents need to beat us.

2 runs, nothing really solidly hit, gio got his control back after the first walk. He can go deep today.

They stand about an 80% chance to win it I'd say.  They can start resting more regulars now.  It must be so relaxing for opposing managers to face the Nats.  Almost like a day off.

Why would we want to 'win the Braves'? Talk about a booby prize (given their fans).

Now, to beat the Braves...now that would be nice.

EDIT: I note that 'against' was subsequently added in the linked post.

Yes, I'm sure he planned it that way.

Considering he's playing with an injured LEFT ARM, it might have been prudent for someone to consider, in the first inning, when you have a chance to score runs, just this once, it might have been wise to put aside the ego of being the #3 hitter and advance the runners.  You know, with the injured arm and all, and it's the first inning.  He'd likely have three more at bats to swing for the fences...after the team had put some runs on the board in the first inning.

...like the Braves just did.

They aren't scoring more than 2 runs vs Teheran. Not happening. He owns their sorry freaking asses.

This team doesn't understand the concept of making contact and putting the ball into play. They all swing like they are 50 HR hitters.

good point, NAW.  For all the talk about their C line up, they have 3 out of their 4 regular infielders, one full time OF, and another who normally platoons v. lefties.  JUpton out v. a lefty is a break, but Simmons v. a lefty is another likely benching.

WE really need detwiler next year to get lefties out of the line up.

Meant to say it better than that.  Having said that, if we won the Braves we could keep their closer and Freeman could replace LaRoche next year.  The rest we could discard.
