Depending on how the next two months play out it could be a career year for him.

I'd like to see him hit some of his home runs when the game is still in balance instead of being down 3+ runs.

Right now it's just empty numbers.

I like to call em garbage time homers. Except a couple of em have come in the "clutch" in the 9th, it'd be nice if he could've hit one last night with a man on and it was a 1-0 game...

It was frustrating to watch him today take 3rd strikes with ducks on the pond. I wish he would be a little more agressive in RBI situations.

I have a policy with this team where I don't complain about "missed opportunities" to score runs when they score 9 runs in a game.  Call me crazy.

Newbie here but has anyone else noticed that about a month ago, Werth moved his hands up when batting?  He used to keep his hands around waist level, and now they are higher, near the bottom of his rib cage.  Wonder what caused him to do it?  Whatever it was, it is obviously working.

Good observation; leads to a quicker approach.

Adam Kilgore ‏@AdamKilgoreWP 9m

Jayson Werth had an x-ray on his right hand, which got hit by a Kyle Lohse fastball. It was negative, but there was a nasty bruise.

l hope the x-ray was more thorough than the one they did on Espinosa, you know, the one that didn't discover his hand was broken until weeks later.

Just having an unbelievable season since coming off the DL.  Unlike Rendon his .300 is real because he rose from the ashes of a .250 hitter and has been hitting upwards of .350 for over a month.  If only the guys in front of him and behind him could do something with it.

From Kilgore:

Quote
Jayson Werth entered Sunday afternoon’s 8-5 loss to the Brewers with one ailing body part and left with three.

Playing through a tweaked groin he suffered Saturday night, Werth absorbed one Kyle Lohse fastball off the ribs and another off the knuckles of his right hand. Werth underwent an x-ray on his hand. It came back negative, but the pitch – which the umpire ruled a check-swing foul ball – left a nasty bruise across the top of his hand.

“One of those days,” Werth said, laughing off his bad luck.

In the clubhouse afterward, Werth walked through the room with ice wrapped around his upper left leg, his midsection and his right hand.

“I’ll be alright,” Werth said. “I’ll be in there tomorrow.”

Only true guinea on the team.  We need 6 or 7 more like him.
What does this mean? The only definition of the word I can find is a racial slur for Italians that is similar in meaning to the N word.

In my old neighborhood that's exactly what it meant.   It could lead to a serious ass whipping if spoken to any American of Italian descent.

Look at who posted it and make a guess of its connotation.
