Krol is a diamond in the rough. Him and Rendon the biggest revelations of the year.

This is one of the bright spots of this season.  You get to see who will be able to contribute to this team for years to come.

True but it also reminds me of the 2006-2010 Nats. It is great but we need to win.

I agree winning is far superior to finding new guys that could be the base of a team.

Did the Nats have talent in 06-10 like Harper, Stras, Zimm, etc?  I honestly don't know but it seems like there is a nice base that just needs some time to build upon.  Obviously waiting for people to develop is killer.

I'm starting to think we're not great with Harper either.  We were .500 when he left weren't we?
Nah we were fresh off a home series win against the Phillies and above .500 I think. And he was playing hurt since May 1st. The way things have gone though you might be right that he couldn't have changed much.

freak me I just saw the box score and noticed we made it a game. Too little too late though I suppose.
better than going down without a fight, I find it to be a good sign.

None of Harper, Stras, JZimm are locked up long term. All 3 could bolt for free agency in the upcoming years.

Of course they could.  Anything could happen.

We were 21-17 when he crashed into the wall in Atlanta, and on a five game winning streak I believe.

Well at least we did win the season series against the Rockies (4-3 overall), something we rarely do...but it could have been so much more.

Harper's not even FA eligible until 2019, right? That's pretty long term.
