I don't know if this will mean anything to most of you, but around here it's a big deal.  Heralded 3rd baseman, Alex Gordon will be the starting third baseman for the Kansas City Royals on opening day.  He was selected two picks before Zimm two years ago.  He was a great college player here at Nebraska and had a huge year in AA Wichita last year and has a had a great spring.  A lot of people are comparing him to George Brett, which is a little premature if you ask me, but good ole George thinks very highly of him.  There's a lot of people pretty excited around here as well.  The only player to come out of Nebraska and be drafter higher was Darin Erstad, he's had a pretty good career.  There are a ton of young talented third basemen that are going to be a lot of fun to watch the next decade or so.
