What should Rendon's nickname be?

The Grin: no need for explanation
7 (11.7%)
El Martillo:  Spanish for "The Hammer;" earned by the comparison of his wrists and swing to Aaron's
5 (8.3%)
Tony "Two bags":  in honor of his doubles, not his once and maybe future position. sounds vaguely mobbish.
29 (48.3%)
The Hitman:  also has mob overtones
19 (31.7%)

Enter the Rendon - Grin for the Win
« Topic Start: June 09, 2013, 04:57:03 PM »
One of the things that ticks me off is that everyone here knew that either Lombo or Rendon was better than Espi.

But Espi still played for the first third of the season.

It was so obvious that he was crap.    It may be the injuries.  I don't know.   Bit it was still crap.

Just saw the replay from the catch that Rendon made in the 7th(?), after having made the error on the same play earlier, smiled and fist pumped, having fun.  Cool to see with all the stone faces we have on this team.

BiL just went on EVERYBODYS s**t list instead of being on most people's s**t list, lol.

This kid is the real deal though.  It's a sad story for Espy though.  Unless they move LaRoche, he is pretty much the odd man out or the utility guy.

I think Rendon has a infectious smile. Seems like an upbeat kinda guy, good for clubhouse.

I agree, nothing has bothered me so far about Rendon.

Manny Machado, on the other hand, there's something I hate about his face and I can't place it. He looks like he's trying to figure out how to doublecross you while playing a baseball game. And it's not fueled by any O's hate or anything or xenophobia, I just don't think I'd trust him to tell me the time. He's a rising star, obviously, but man if he doesn't creep me out (let's hope Slateman doesn't see this sacrilege rant).

Someone wasn't a Dmitri Young fan. You probably didn't even believe that his smile was worth 10-20 more :w: 's. Hater.

Where is tomterp to tell BiL not to judge a player's appearance? Then again, he probably is slow to protect smiley guys after NOTLD took him behind the woodshed in 2007  8)

Rendon is probably smiling because he's hitting .297. I'd smile, too. In fact, I smile every time I think about Rendon's hitting

I just hope he doesn't get pulled into the nba after yesterday's jump.

Oh, lighten up, people. It's not like I called Rendon a pedophile or something. I just think his constant smile on the field makes him look goofy. And it wouldn't surprise me if the opposition thinks of it as arrogance.

That was a very impressive vertical leap, but I'm fairly certain that the NBA will never show much interest in Tony.

a kid spends his whole life playing baseball, hoping to some day make the show and is now starting at 2nd for the defending NL East champs... Yeah, I think I'd be smiling ear to ear also. Reminds me of Gio.

I may be all smiles and rainbows off the field, but I like my players to be stone faced assassins on the field. 8)

Yeah, Gio is goofy too. :stir:

Seriously, that's why I always liked Chad Cordero. Off the field, he was always smiles and seemed genuinely grateful to be at the MLB level. On the field, his demeanor was iinnnnnteeennnsssee.

That's the same way Harper is.

I don't mind Rendon smiling, homie needs a damn haircut though. So does Marrero

He needs a bit of orthodontic work. Then his smile will be fine.

I'm guessing Rendon's smile will not determine the success of his baseball career. He's no Meat Hook.

I don't care if he smiles or frowns or what, long as he keeps raking.
