Much more versatile than Moore. Could easily take Tracy's slot
No one can really replace Tracy, obviously..   but I get your point.

Blue plays the calliope?

What you are suggesting, it's almost like...  platooning.

You may even see a carousel on the 24th and 25th man, which wouldn't be a bad thing.  Blue911 could play the calliope while guys like Moore, Souza, Mattheus, Garcia and the like shuffle back and forth between Syracuse / Harrisburg and South Capitol St.

I've always liked that sort of roster strategy.  IF you gas a reliever in a mop up role, swing him off the roster and bring in another guy for a couple of weeks if they are equivalent arms.  If a team has 3 lefties in the pen, maybe you call up an extra RH hitter.  A guy is not quite DL'd but is less than fully available, maybe go with a shorter pen.

Sousa returned to Syracuse with a bang. Three RBIs in first game back. Now hitting about .350 or more.

.324/.432/.432 with 1 HR, 4 RBI, 7 BB, and 4 SB over his last 10 games. He should be starting in LF for us til Harper comes back.

How is that even possible?  An .108 ISO with a homer in just 10 games of PAs?  I'm guessing that's about 45 PAs, so maybe on double and no other XBH?

He's getting his Ks under control this year, too.

11% this year at Syrcause, which is less than 1/2 of what he's done at every level except Hagerstown in 2012.  he's gone from about 1:2 K%:BB%, often worse, at every level to better than 3:2.

Souza credits much of his improvement to getting his life in order.

When the Nats brought Souza up at the start of the season, it felt to me like a semi-desperation move because of the injuries.  But at this point he has earned a promotion based on his performance at Syracuse.  His stats are spectacular, but it follows a believable year-by-year progression starting in 2012 -- supposedly the year he got his mind right. (Strother Martin would have been so proud.)

Batting average? .349 -- Check!.  On-base percentage? .456 -- Check! Slugging percentage? .523 -- Check!  Walks/ strikeouts? He's  striking out less than once every nine times at the plate and has more walks than strikeouts.

I sure would like to see the Nationals give this guy a shot.

We need a spark.  Call him up, put him in LF and send Moore down.

I'd rather see Souza get the nod in LF, let's see what he can do.

It's hard to believe him given the PED suspension in 2010.  That said, I can't figure out who gets sent down b/c I agree Moore is playing well, but it's time to see some Souza in LF for the Nats I think!

Hit his 4th HR tonight.  PLEASE call him up already.  He needs to play every day in LF until Harper returns.

Souza is having an absurd season in AAA. OPS near 1.000.

He should be here over McLouth but Rizzo freaked up and won't eat the money.
